Nakshatra is a Vedic astrology app that calculates your birth chart using the ancient Indian system of Jyotish. It reveals your Moon Sign, Birth Nakshatra, planetary periods (Dashas), and more — with AI-powered personal readings.
For the most accurate chart, you'll need your date, time, and place of birth. If you don't know your exact birth time, the app can still calculate your chart — some features that depend on precise timing (like your Rising Sign) will be noted as approximate.
Nakshatra uses the sidereal zodiac (Vedic/Jyotish system), which accounts for the astronomical precession of the equinoxes. Your Vedic signs may differ from your Western signs. The Vedic system also emphasizes the Moon Sign over the Sun Sign, and uses the 27 Nakshatras — lunar mansions that provide deeper personality insight.
A Nakshatra is one of 27 lunar mansions in Vedic astrology. Your Birth Nakshatra — determined by the Moon's position at your birth — reveals core personality traits, karmic patterns, and life themes. It's considered one of the most important placements in your chart.
Dashas are planetary periods in the Vimshottari system that map out the chapters of your life. Each period is ruled by a planet and carries its themes and energy. Nakshatra shows your current Dasha, what's ahead, and what each period means for you.
Nakshatra uses the Ashtakoot system — an ancient method that compares two birth charts across eight dimensions of compatibility, including emotional bond, mental connection, and spiritual alignment. You can invite someone to compare charts by sharing an alignment code.
Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID. To view, change, or cancel your subscription, go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.
